The South Korean won strengthened on Tuesday as data showed consumer confidence in the country hit a six-year high.
The won firmed by as much as 0.3 per cent to Won1,133.52 per dollar after a report showed consumer confidence rose to its highest level since 2011. It later eased to be 0.1 per cent stronger.
The dollar index, a measure of the US currency against a basket of peers, was flat at 97.428.
The Japanese yen was flat at ¥111.89 to the dollar, while the Australian dollar was up 0.1 per cent at $0.7589.
